Thank You! * Eigo de Cooking * 英語でクッキング

On Saturday, February 2, JOMO JET once again held our collaborative cooking event in English with the Maebashi International Association (MIA). Thanks to the many people who came to enjoy delicious food and English conversation!
2月 2日(土)に、前橋市国際交流協会と共催の「英語でクッキング」を実施しました。たくさんのご参加、ありがとうございました! 

The goal of this event was to cook a delicious meal while communicating in English. We split into 6 groups and cooked together by following the instructions of our JOMO JET cooking leaders, Natsuko and Bonnie. They showed us each step carefully and with simple English instructions.
このイベントの目標は、英語コミュニケーションを通して美味しい料理をつくることでした。6つのグループで、JOMO JETのクッキングリーダーのナツコとボニーの指示に従って、一緒に料理しました。シンプルな英語を使って、一ステップずつ丁寧に教えてくれました。

This year’s theme was an American menu: chicken pot pie, a spring salad with strawberries and walnuts, and apple crumble for dessert. Chicken pot pie is a hearty dish in America, and is common especially in the winter.


You can also use leftover chicken or vegetables to make chicken pot pie. We hope our participants will try making the dishes again at home someday!

Once again, thanks to everyone for joining this cooking event and a big thank you to MIA for their help in planning and running this event. We had a great time cooking with you all!

On Saturday, March 10th, JOMO JET held our collaborative cooking event in English with the Maebashi International Association (MIA). Thanks to the many people who came to enjoy delicious food and speaking English together!
3月 10日(土)にJOMO JETは前橋市国際交流協会と共催で「英語でクッキング」を実施しました。たくさんの方にご参加いただいて、皆様のおかげでとても楽しいイベントになりました!

The participants had the opportunity to challenge themselves with cooking a delicious meal while practicing English conversation with the JOMO JET members. After we formed groups of 5 people, every group prepared a tasty menu following Kristin (JOMO JET)’s  instructions.
JOMO JETのメンバーと英語で会話しながら、参加者の皆様は美味しいフランス料理に挑戦しました。5人のグループに分かれて、料理が上手なクリスティン先生(JOMO JET)の指示に従いながら、とても美味しいメニューを無事に作れました。

This year we made: Mediterranean shrimp scampi, tabouli salad, and tahini brownies for dessert. It was really delicious! We were able to enjoy our lunch together in our groups and talk in English with each other. It was a great time!


Thanks to everyone for joining this cooking event and thanks to MIA for the kind cooperation to make it happen! Let’s try to challenge ourselves with cooking again in the future!

On Saturday, March 10, JOMO JET will co-host an English  cooking class with the Maebashi International Association. With the help of JOMO JET members, we will cook and eat a Mediterranean-style meal together. There is a fee to attend this event, but it will be a lot of fun, so please join us!

■Capacity limit: 12 participants (Participants under age 15 must be accompanied by a guardian) (Waitlist available)
